Either will do for me, it just depends on which is more accessible for me.
Manga - More detail in the art, storyline, and character development.
Anime - It's animated (obviously), so there are those pretty special effects, and music. There are the rare drama cds, inspired by the manga, but not often. Oh and it's easier for me to buy in a series/boxset. I'm terrible at waiting for the next volume to be released.
So there it is simplified.
IRT Shini: $1..3. Wow. No wonder why is it that popular and sells so much. And of course the price is part a consequence of this. How nice would it be that it was just twice as expensive over here.

I think an important advantage of anime besides color, animation, and music, is hearing the characters' voices. This is specially important in the case of Chii, at least in the Jap. version of Chobits. She sounds sooo cute, it adds to the character. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
